Does Blue Cross/Blue Shield cover my visits?

Dr. Zeiger is a provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BC/BS) PPO. A deductible and co-payment may be required. BC/BS pays for most laboratory tests, but some of the specialty tests may not be covered. BC/BS does not cover acupuncture, vitamin infusions, prolotherapy, laser therapy, lumbar spinal decompression as well as several other services. Please contact our office for more information on BC/BS coverage. You’ll be expected to pay for any services not covered.

Does Medicare cover my visits?

Dr. Zeiger does not accept Medicare, and Medicare will not reimburse visits with him. In compliance with federal legal guidelines, you will need to sign a waiver stating that you will not submit any claims for Dr. Zeiger’s services to Medicare. This is in compliance with federal legal guidelines. However, many of the lab tests ordered by Dr. Zeiger may be covered by Medicare. The laboratory will bill Medicare directly when these tests are required.

Do you accept HMOs?

healthWorks, IMC is not an HMO provider.

What about insurance coverage for other services?

Services such as acupuncture, laser therapy, lumbar spinal decompression, therapeutic massage, and nutrient infusions, as well as others, are usually not covered by insurers. Upon request, healthWorks, IMC will provide receipts for patients to self-submit for reimbursement. In addition, nutritional and herbal products are generally not covered under pharmacy benefits. A service charge will be applied for letters of medical necessity. Allow 2 week lead time for these letters. Contact the office assistant at 312-255-9444 for details.

Will you bill my insurance for me?

As a service to you, we submit claims to your insurance company. However, you are responsible for any portion of the claim not reimbursed by your insurance.

Will my HSA or FSA pay for non-covered services?

Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts often pay for healthcare services and products that your health insurance will not cover. Because of this, we encourage patients to enroll in HSA’s when they are offered by your employer. We will provide documentation of medical necessity to facilitate reimbursement. Check with your program administrator or our office for more information.
